Couldn't find a more suggestive picture in a rush... |
I'm writing this article as a recommendation for anyone who's working with planetary energies, irrespective whether they're self-proclaimed whatnots or scholars or whatever, or whether those people say such things don't matter. It is thought of as a stupid-friendly article every dumbass can understand. Its actual target is people with little to no astrological knowledge, so I'll be repeating some stuff I've been saying in other articles.
Since it's always better to be proactive instead of reactive in any area of life, I'm applying this concept in regards to magical work.
As they transit through the zodiac, the planets encounter areas that increase and decrease their powers. Generally, it much better to work with a planet whenever its powers are stronger since there are also cases when you can work with a planet whenever it's weak, depending on your intent even if there's some idiots out there who say magick is not about intent...
Each of the planets moves at its own speed and so some will transit a sign faster than others. This means that in some cases people only have so much time to work with such a planet whenever it's strong, considering many of them can't afford to perform rituals regardless of the day of the week or the time of day.
Besides the Moon which spends some two and a half days in a sign, Mercury, Venus and the Sun move faster compared to the rest of the planets, Mars included. We wrote in Asteria the approximate amount of time it takes for each if the planets to transit through a sign and such information is also easily available out there.
With that in mind, all you have to do is look up the current planetary transits and do a quick estimate of the amount of time a planet still has before it exists its current sign. You can also do a quick estimate of the amount of time it will take a planet to enter a certain sign.
For example, Venus is exiting Taurus and will enter Libra in (off the top) just under four months. Mercury will exit Gemini in around two weeks and afterwards will enter Virgo after some five weeks or so. The Sun will enter Leo in thirty days tops.
Once you know that, you can schedule your rituals with those planets beforehand. This is especially useful in case you have to perform rituals for extremely important goals since you will dedicate the time a particular planet is stronger to work with it throughout that time for achieving those goals. And by this I mean doing both rituals for sending spirits to change things around and workings for empowering talismans for the same goals.
For example, if you want your business to flourish and increase your clientele you will work with Mercury. You will command the spirits of Mercury to do so, but then you will also create a Mercury talisman for that purpose and either wear it on yourself or place it somewhere inside your store. You can break it down further by casting spells and creating talismans for more specific purposes during the time Mercury is strong, such as improving your luck with respect to your business, making it easier for cash to come into your possession, etc.
In the case of Venus, if you have certain desires of a more romantic and/or sexual nature, you can do the same. Cast on yourself to become successful in those areas. Then cast on yourself to make yourself more attractive (which is not the same as being more successful). Then cast to draw potential partners to you. Then cast on a certain someone you've had in mind to make that person start dating (and shagging) you. Then make a talisman for each if those goals, and so on.
The more you take advantage of such time frames, the more you increase your chances of success. Additionally, this has the advantage of diminishing the failure rate of any such operation you perform at times that planet is located in certain houses because you can't afford to wait for it to be on an angle since you also have to go to work, take the kids to school, do grocery shopping, cook, sleep, etc. So even if you cast a spell when the planet's cadent but you make a talisman with it when it's rising or culminating, a strong and well focused force will still be working on manifesting your desires thanks to the talisman, besides the strong but unfocused force of the initial spell.
So don't just sit on your ass doing nothing only to start panicking whenever you realize you need something badly and the planet that's best suited to make that happen is ages away from being strong. Luckily planets also get a boost in power in other areas of the chart, but my point stands nonetheless.
Hate on, dum-dums!
