Mercury talisman experiment + bonus

I was going to leave the Venus article I posted the other day as a stand alone one, but upon hearing news yet again of people charging money for occult services done at highly awful astro times based on the planet in question, I decided to allocate additional time in this direction. I noticed that calling out people saying they're stupid isn't working, being like a small drop of awareness raising in a vast occult ocean of gullibility and fraud, so I will merely put these articles up and whoever is to see them is free to make use of this information or discard it.

Since the occult service I've referred to revolved around a Mercury operation, I will go ahead and continue with good ol' Cornelius Agrippa's magic square talismans, this post being allocated to Mercury. Here is the square of Mercury from Book II, Chapter XXII of his Three Books of Occult Philosophy:

The text relating to such a talisman says the following:

"The sixt table is of Mercury resulting from the square of eight drawn into it self, containing sixty four numbers, whereof eight on every side and by both Diameters make 260. and the sum of all 2080. and over it are set divine names with an Intelligency to what is good, with a spirit to what is evil, and from it is drawn a Character of Mercury, and the spirits thereof; and if it be with Mercury being fortunate engraven upon Silver, or Tin, or yellow Brass, or be writ upon Virgin Parchment, it renders the bearer thereof gratefull, and fortunate to do what he pleaseth: it bringeth gain, and prevents poverty, conduceth to memory, understanding, and divination, and to the understanding of occult things by dreams: and if it be an unfortunate Mercury, doth all things contrary to these."

So again there is mentioning of such a talisman made at times when Mercury is fortunate and when the planet is unfortunate. Mind you, the ritual service I've been referring to at the beginning of the article was done at a godawful time when Mercury was highly unfortunate. Not only is it in exile in Sagittarius but it is also combust, meaning it is highly afflicted and thus it would translate as highly unfortunate, right? On top of that, Mercury was also conjunct the South Node, a point that intensifies the planet's more evil traits. Yet the ritual was done for a beneficial purpose so the hell with Agrippa, right? 

Anyway, I already mentioned in the previous article that Agrippa allows for parchment to be used for this kind of Mercury pentacle so it should be easier to obtain. Not that tin or yellow brass wouldn't, especially if you happen to come across it in hardware stores and so on. But in everything else fails resume to use a clean piece of paper since this is an experiment after all.

Truth be told, I find it trickier to do Mercury elections since I keep hitting things like combust and under sunbeams way more often than with the other planets but hey, I'm no expert. I was going to use an election with Mercury in Aquarius, but for some reason it seemed off even if I placed Mercury on the two lesser used angles to come up with a time it and the Moon weren't involved in harsh aspects or when the Moon wasn't in some ominous sign. So I opted to wait for a bit longer and came up with this: May 6, 2022 at 6:16am GMT - Friday. I haven't checked the planetary hours so I'm not sure if it's right in the beginning of the hour of Mercury or still inside that of Venus, so a thousand apologies if it's not the hour of Mercury...

We see Mercury in its sign of domicile, triplicity and in its terms which, along with it being on the Ascendant makes it super super potent. It is not combust and not even under sunbeams so it's highly powerful, especially since it's not involved in hard aspects. The waxing Moon is also very strong in domicile and uninvolved in hard aspects, making it perfect to channel the energies into good ol' Cornelius' talisman. Both Mercury and the Moon are in sect which, although not required in elections, does highlight their more pleasant traits. 

As with the Venus talisman experiment, start the ritual at that time by casting your circle and whatnot. Tune the space to Mercury in whichever way you know. Inscribe the metal or the parchment (or paper) with the square of Mercury. Call on Mercury spirits to charge the damn thing for such and such and so on.

Then again, if you want to make it for the opposite of those powers then you can simply follow the person who did that ritual for a client and do it at a godawful time. If there's no way you can do it while Mercury is still in Sagittarius, then place it in Pisces and as close to the Sun as possible, but not too close as I'm about to explain. So no need for me to come up with a chart for that. Just go online and follow some high and mighty wizard and see when they're planning their Mercury rituals for clients. You can even do it next Wednesday in the hour of Mercury like any good know-it-all wizard would.

Now, when it comes to Mercury being too close to that Sun I was referring to cazimi - the Sun amplifies the planet's energies. As it so happens, there's one such thing taking place a few days from now with Mercury still very weak in Sagittarius. So what do you do? Our buddy who wrote the Picatrix provides us help. Maslama... Al-Maj... itri? Was it?! Have I spelled it correctly? Idk... Whatever! Sorry dude! We can use this to make a Mercury decan talisman from the Picatrix since Mercury will be in cazimi in its decan in Sagittarius. Ta-da! Yea yea, it's a separating conjunction yet it's still cazimi.

And there you have it! Two pretty elections for the price of none. Three, if you consider the hints for the unfortunate Mercury talisman from Cornelius.
