Jupiter talisman experiment + bonus

It seems that after the Venus (which it'd be best if you read first) and Mercury articles about these talismans I do have to go ahead and write one for each of the other planets. Just my luck... Keep in mind these articles are about the planetary squares from Agrippa's Book II, Chapter XXII and experimenting with them as talismans the way Agrippa wrote. Simply go to the previous two articles (especially the Venus one) and see more in depth instructions. However, you can use the astrological election times I'm providing in these articles to perform other magical operations with the forces of the respective planets.

Moving on, we come to Jupiter and Agrippa wrote the following relating to it square:

"The second is called the table of Jupiter, which consists of a Quaternian drawn into it self [i.e. 4 times 4], containing sixteen particular numbers, and in every line, and Diameter four, making thirty four. Now the Sum of all is 136. And there are over it divine names with an Intelligence to good, with a spirit to bad, and out of it is drawn the Character of Jupiter, and the spirits thereof. They say that if it be impressed upon a Silver plate with Jupiter being powerfull, and ruling, it conduceth to gain, and riches, favor, and love, peace, and concord, and to appease enemies, to confirm honors, dignities, and counsels, and dissolve enchantments if it be engraven on a corall."

Note that good ol' Heinrich mentions nothing of the talisman's reverse powers when made at times Jupiter is unfortunate, unlike the rest of the talismans of the other planets. This is something peculiar and the text also mentions Jupiter as being powerful and ruling, instead of fortunate. I'm no linguist and my basic understanding (because I have no other) tells me it should be made when Jupiter is in domicile (Sagittarius, Pisces) alone, but I see no reason why someone couldn't experiment with it when Jupiter is exalted (Cancer).

Luckily for us Jupiter is close to Pisces so we should be able to make great use of that time from a magical perspective. Being the ever so good guy that I am I made this election for the high and mighty wizards, meaning in a more careless way, and selected a Thursday: February 10, 2022 at 1:21pm GMT - very likely in the hour of Jupiter, HA! At any rate, I imagine not everyone lives on the first meridian so you'd have to edit the chart for your location appropriately.

We see Jupiter culminating in domicile and terms in Pisces, being uber strong. The less pleasant aspect of this election is the separating square between Jupiter and a waxing Moon so if you don't fancy that then you can move the chart forward a couple of days until the Moon is in domicile in Cancer. But you'd loose the day and hour boo hoo... Otherwise, you can wait until Saturday, March 5 when Jupiter is even stronger, being in its decan as well and cazimi (applying) and do it then either at 6:41am when it's ascending

or at 12:09pm when its culminating

yet you'd still not have the day and hour so "tough luck". More importantly, Jupiter would only be in domicile and decan having exited its terms, but it would be cazimi so the Sun would be magnifying its energies. Either way, the waxing Moon is strolling through Aries, neither it or Jupiter being involved in hard aspects.

So start the ritual at any of those times and tune the space to Jupiter, engrave the talisman with the Jupiter kamea, call on the spirits and so on...

Again, our buddy von Nettesheim didn't mention such a talisman being made for the opposite purposes at times when Jupiter is unfortunate. If you want to give that a try and see how it goes, whether it makes someone poor and so on, you'd have to wait for a few more years until Jupiter enters Gemini.

And now for the bonus part! There's a Picatrix decan talisman to be made using the latter two elections so you can do either ritual or even both on the same day. As such, the Arabic Picatrix mentions the following of the second decan of Pisces:

"The image of an upside down man holding food in his hand appears in its second phase, and this is also the phase of Jupiter. It indicates dignity, inspiration and the capability of dealing with matters of great importance."

The Latin Picatrix says that:

"A man turned around backwards holding his head downwards, and his feet upwards lifted up on high, and in his hand a tray of something to be eaten. And this is a face of reward and of strong will in matters which are high, burdensome and valued, and of thinking."

In lack of any image for the decan I decided to add this one since you wouldn't be needing to go all out artistic when drawing it on the talisman itself. You can choose either image from the above and stick to the appropriate powers mentioned alongside it since it would be best not to mix and match sources imo, unless you're some kind of an expert in this field. And, I for one am far from being such a thing.

If you want to go more ceremonially on it you can follow my initial post on this subject and make use of those ritual patterns. Btw, that talisman's turned out to be quite useful. If you choose to go down this road then the godname for Pisces is HHVY and the angel of the decan is Avron.

That concludes the third article on what appears to be a new series on this blog.

Hate on, dum-dums!
