Free scrying exercise

Several people including Shaman have written to me complaining with respect of the tremendous impact this blog has on their eyes. While I understand their complaints, I cannot change the appearance of the blog because I have intended to make it as such.

You see, the background and fonts have been carefully chosen as to have the reader experience a free flashing colors exercise. This is helpful for a bunch of occult things, including astral vision and scrying. Shaman told me his astral vision works just fine so he doesn't need any exercise - he is free to read my blog in his 20-20 astral vision in that case :)

Have you done your energy work today?

There are quite a few, if not many occultists out there who disregard and even dismiss energy work when it comes to magical practice. While I see nothing wrong with their views and I care not how they perform their rituals and whatnot, it kinda pisses me when they start telling beginners they don't need energy work in magick, especially when the latter ask about it specifically. It is true that several magical systems in the Western Traditions focus solely on getting to call on and commanding spirits, systems which are at risk of becoming perverted due to certain contemporary teachings, and mention nothing of any need to work on any sort of energy whatever...

There are also systems of magick like that of the Golden Dawn and Thelema in which a person is being thought not only how to conjure spirits, which is something they will learn much later, but also self-improvement and self-mastery. They way I understand it from having discussed with people who are initiated in one of these systems and are thus members of established magical orders, the individual is being guided towards working on the self in the first place and is only introduced to working with spirits after he or she has attained a certain level - Adept. Besides the need to perform certain regular exercises and meditations specific to each initiatory stage, the person also has to perform certain rituals and techniques that will strengthen their personal sphere of consciousness.

In yo face!

It has come to my attention that some time after Asteria became available to the public at large there have been some discussions in occult circles over energies from the heavens coming down to Earth and how that is bogus or something like that. While it is not my goal to teach the ignorant because I'm no teacher and mostly because I don't care, I have added this screenshot from "Practicing Astral Magic in Sixteenth-Century Ottoman Istambul: A Treatise on Talismans Attributed to Ibn Kemal (d. 1534)" by A. Tunç Şen for everyone to see, be they ignorant or otherwise.

Empowered Tree of Life Exercise

Photo from this article on the Tree of Life

I have recently started doing this exercise I have been lead towards by the beyond. After a few repetitions I find it do be quite potent, more potent than the usual Middle Pillar exercise and with longer lasting effects even.

I see no reason for it to be performed during regular rituals in which spirit conjuration is involved, for the regular Middle Pillar should suffice. I for one use my own version of that during such rituals. It would fit for a stand alone magical practice session for anyone willing to add a solid Qabalistic working to their usual daily rites.

DO NOT USE THE LINK IN THE PDF. USE THIS ONE INSTEAD BECAUSE THE MAGAZINE SITE STOPPED WORKING A WHILE AGO.

An old Spuch legend

I, a nobody, have had the tremendous pleasure of being considered worthy of joining the ever so glorious Lord Manticore on one of his most illustrious and chivalrous magical campaigns recently, although the reasons behind it allude me so far, as I am in no way some kind of magical bigshot. Quite the opposite.

It was a rather short campaign, but of great intensity and marked by a more than decent amount of difficulty. Each day presented more and more challenges to overcome, yet thanks to the superb leadership and commanding skills of Lord M it has ended in complete and total victory! Towards the end of the campaign his most enchanted Lordshipfulnessest performed what is likely to become stuff of legend: an even more highly advanced ritual on top of a highly advanced one!

It is far beyond me to even speak of such unimaginable techniques that surpass the imagination of an ordinary occult practitioner, which confirms my suspicions that Lord M must be some sort of Magister Templi. What I can say is that the base technique is one only a Senior Adept in the Golden Dawn can perform, while the latter is something only his most superior, over-the-top-ness-est can do with the added skill of linking the two techniques perfectly.

Which brings us to the meme in this article. It is not my intention to make fun of GD people, especially those who lean towards the traditional Golden Dawn current. I have great respect for them, as I have gained a lot from interacting with one such person who opened my eyes to what lodge magick is really about, and not just some silly characters posing as magicianists while wearing goofy headdresses.

My intention is to observe the fact his most superiornessest has gone his own way from the GD and has achieved his own level of mastery based on his own preferences. And this is something I'm constantly cheering for in the occult field - pioneering! I'm overlooking the fact he's trying to contaminate me with his vastly enriched, allergic-to-Qabalah system, because my Crowley-ripoff is working good for me so far and it requires considerable less time to do a ritual using it. Yet I'm "borrowing" from his most illuminatednessest whenever I see something shiny and to my liking in his most phenomenal magical style. Not that his style isn't shiny, but its brightness blinds me, so I merely borrow the stuff that a just close to burning my retina.

Hail Lord Manticore!
