Mars growing stronger

 

Mars is in direct motion right now and in domicile, so it is strong. Yet it is moving slower than its usual transit speed, so it is not as strong as usual when transiting its domicile. Mars will continue to move slower than usual up until it exists Aries, reaching normal speed with only a few minutes of arc remaining before it slips into Taurus where it is weak. 

However, Mars' current condition is about to improve even more, since in a few days it will enter its terms in Aries, starting at 20*00'00'' Aries. Between then and when it reaches 25*59'59'' Aries it will be very strong! Not super strong, but strong nonetheless. So look up the chart and see the exact dates and times Mars will happen to be in those degrees, based on your location. 

Thoughts on lottery magick

 

I came across a comment in Scott's blog a few days ago, someone asking him about spells for winning the lottery: here. I thought of throwing my two cents in, since it's something I've experimented with, yet in a more passive way, as I will detail further on. The querent asked Scott what is the best magical power from those listed in Liber 777 for winning the lottery. Scott provided the following answer, which I took as my cue to step in :P

"Experimentally I found that Jupiter seemed to work the best for me compared to Sun and also Mercury. Another magician online posted about the same thing and he claimed to have better luck with Mercury. Here's the rationale for each of those planets.

Sun: Power of Acquiring Wealth. Lottery winnings are wealth.
Jupiter: Political and Other Ascendancy. In our modern society, "ascendancy" is strongly tied to wealth. Rich people have the highest status, and lottery winnings make you rich.
Mercury: Less obvious from the 777 powers, but traditionally Mercury rules games of chance. The lottery is a game of chance.

The differences in my results and the other magician's results might have something to do with our respective astrological charts, but it's not obvious what the difference would be. I have Mercury in rulership and Jupiter in detriment in mine, so if the relationship was straightforward planetary dignity I would expect Mercury to work better for me. But that isn't how my results turned out."

Yours truly: brief description

"The Third decan is ruled by the Daemon SIKET and is depicted as a woman with a drum on her head and a sceptre in her right hand, with a flask in her left. This (the words in bold letters) is what I've turned myself into using the methods I present in my book, The Magic of Astrorelationships. The aforementioned quote is from Nick Farrell's Helios Unbound. (Needless to say - Nick!) The psychological data surrounding the decans that Nick presents in his book has helped me a great deal.

PS: this is not a brown-nosing post. God knows, I had to sacrifice many neurons before I got my hands on that data (because Nick is a meanie!). The point is, Nick's book is spot on if you want to work on yourself from that perspective and then some.

 

Anonymous rating

Magick Pills for Hard Transits got an anonymous 3* rating recently and I want to thank the person who gave it that rating for doing so ! I would've felt better if they added a review to it though, something that would allow other to know the reason why it deserves 3*. The same applies for the 5* rating it got and for any other possible rating it would get.

Don't get me wrong now, for I am not bothered by this rating. I find it decent. But I for one would've liked additional feedback from the reader. I suspect he or she was unsatisfied by the book(let)'s length, or the information contained inside of it that is offered in a more general manner. I understand that, but this text was initially supposed to be part of Nick's Hermetic Tablet. As such, it had to respect certain criteria, including length, so I did my best to compress the information as much as possible in order to respect said criteria, while presenting all the important pieces of information at the same time. 

Decan talisman - third decan of Capricorn

Another decan talisman from the Picatrix has caught my attention lately, this time from the Latin version: the third decan of Capricorn, decan of Sol. The text mentions the following about said decan:

"A man holding a book and opening and closing it, and having before the book the tail of a fish. And this is a face of riches, the accumulation of money and the ascent of business affairs tending toward a good end." - image from Scion's article on the subject.

Naturally, consecrating the talisman for these purposes is in order. 

Decan talisman - first decan of Sagittarius

Here's an easy to do scholastic image talisman from the Picatrix - Book I, Chapter 11, Arabic version. It's a talisman for the first decan of Sagittarius and I'm putting it out there for anyone interested in making it.

As in my previous article, the Picatrix instructs that the primary condition for making these talismans is to have the decan Lord (ruler) in the decan of choice. Mercury enters the first decan of Sagittarius on Dec 1 at 8pm GMT and it exits it on Dec 8 between 5 and 6am GMT, so you'd have about a week's time to do it.

The Picatrix Experiment

Earlier this week I was looking up some easy scholastic image talismans for someone and an election time that would preferably be sooner than later. The Picatrix seemed like a good source, since Book I details on such talismans in Chapters 10, 11, and 12. Lo and behold, I quickly found the one! The second decan of Taurus, decan of the Moon. I made this selection based on the powers of the decan and the fact that the Moon moves quickly through the signs, something that is very useful for these talismans, as I will be detailing further on. 

The Arabic version of the Picatrix has this to say about the decan in question:

"In the second phase of Taurus, we find the image of a man whose body and face look like those of a camel, his nails similar to the hoof of a cow, wearing an old garment, interested in developing land and buildings, and using cows for planting and cultivation. This is the phase of the Moon; it is a phase of ability, honor, vice-regency, destruction and oppression of constituency."

The Latin version of the Picatrix mentions:

"A man like the figure of a camel and having on his fingers are hooves like those of cows, and he is covered completely with a torn linen sheet. He desires to work the land, to sow, and to make things. And this is a face of nobility, power, and of rewarding the people."
