Tricky trickster

I've spoken multiple times about how I find Mercury the most difficult planet to work with in regards to elections. Here is one such example.

Mercury is close to entering Virgo, a sign of its domicile and exaltation. Naturally, Mercury is super powerful in this sign. However, if we are to consider lunar phases as well, we see that the only election that takes into account both the Moon's phase and sign would be on August 1. The following chart shows Mercury on the MC and the Moon a little past the Full Moon degree, but also consider Mercury on the ASC, something that would have the Moon placed just prior to that degree.

We see Mercury is involved in a very tight opposition to Saturn (and never mind it's slightly off on the MC). Mercury greatly overpowers Saturn, especially with Saturn retro. However, I for one would expect at least a few hindrances on the Mercury spell's way towards manifesting even so. 

We could wait for the waning lunar phase then. But, even with the Moon clear of hard aspects (especially with malefics), Mercury is still heading towards a conjunction with Mars. Again, Mercury is greatly overpowering Mars as well, but the applying aspect would still cause hindrance. 

Moreover, Mercury will enter its "shadow zone" at around 8° Virgo and will station retro at around 23° of the sign (iirc). This means that its power will lessen throughout all this time. Not only that, but its applying conjunction with Mars will last longer, since Mercury will appear to slow down.

I have yet to check Mercury's (and the Moon's) condition after the planet will station direct at 8° Virgo. It's quite probable more election opportunities will arise then.
