Horary reading

This is going to be a lengthy article and I hate writing them as much as I hate reading them, especially now that I have to deal with a lot in my personal life, but I consider it necessary.

Some time ago someone asked me why I don't do horary as a service if I do elections. I told the person I've not the experience to interpret a horary chart since I'm unfamiliar with all its many quirks and how they worth together. Truth be told I haven't found it necessary to go into it. But things may change with recent events and a backstory is needed.

A little over a month ago a man contacted me asking me to expose his ex wife's secrets to him, mostly those regarding their marital relationship. He and the woman divorced earlier this year and he had most of his reasons straightened, but his gut feeling told him there may be more to it than the accusations he held against her.

I asked him if he wanted me to do a Sun ritual to shed light on the matter and expose her secrets, despite the Sun being not that strong at the time, its dignity coming solely from its decan in Virgo. He agreed nonetheless. Shortly after the ritual the man felt a sudden urge to do some investigating. He made some inquiries, talked to some people, looked into past events and tried his best to recollect certain things before coming up with a hypothesis.

He thought it probable the woman cheated on him with her former colleague with whom she remained friends. The woman seemed to have great affinity for the guy and spoke highly of him, cheerfully recollecting their deeds at work. The husband thought little of it yet decided to probe a bit into the nature of their relationship, but the woman became defensive, evasive, or simply changed the subject. Soon enough the husband got over it and forgot all about it.

Some time after my ritual he asked me to do a geomancy reading asking if his ex wife had sex with that guy during their marriage. The reading pointed to such an occurrence having taken place, but the court was not that strong and I needed better proof so to speak. I did notice that whatever happened had been premeditated. I also asked the cards and despite the fact I'm far from being an expert on the matter, that method too pointed to a possible sexual act between them. I then did a horary as my last resort.

This method too produced some strong indications for sex, but being inexperienced I couldn't tell for sure so I asked some people in the know. The answer I got was that they indeed had sex, it was somewhat awkward, probably stressful, was over quickly and both of them kept it between themselves. And just as I discerned from the dice, it had been premeditated.

I told my client the answer and it made him consider a possible timing. During the time his ex wife and that guy worked together it was highly probable to have happened and my dice confirmed the probability they have indeed had sex at least once back then. But the man recalled a certain event he found strange only in hindsight.

It occurred during summer of last year, a time the woman was no longer working together with the guy. The husband left for work early in the morning as usual while she remained home after taking the day off for a doctor's appointment. The appointment was mid morning and the clinic was nearby so she was home before noon. She had told him some female friend was going to drop by that day and that they were going to go shopping together.

Later that evening the man returned home and asked his wife about her day. She acted weird saying her friend had arrived but had to leave shortly and it botched her mood for shopping so she stayed home for the rest of the day. Nothing strange about that although he noticed his wife acting peculiar throughout the rest of the evening, recalling every minute detail of her medical checkup and constantly making a big deal out of the most trivial things, from the doctor's necktie to a fat woman with awful hair in the waiting room.

The man asked me to ask if his ex had sex with the guy in that particular month of last year, because he didn't remember the exact date. Both dice and cards strongly confirmed this but I also did horary, this time without asking for assistance. The results are as following based on my considerations alone. I imagine more knowledgeable people on the matter would be able to correct me or add more details.

Since the man asked me to ask about his wife, he is first house, she is seventh, while the guy is the fifth from the seventh, i.e. the eleventh.

He is the Mercury since the cusp of the first is in Gemini and Mercury rules Gemini. He is in Libra, sixth house. He is dignified (strong) by triplicity but in a candent house, coincidentally or not the house covering the work place. Thus, he is polite and logical, but in this case in regards to his job since being in a cadent house has very little power over the matter.

The woman is Jupiter since Jupiter rules Sagittarius and the cusp of the seventh is in Sagittarius. She is dignified by exaltation in Cancer, highly emotional, but in a cadent house as well which to me indicates she had a harder time expressing those emotions. The ninth house covers religion or philosophy although that doesn’t apply in this case and neither does traveling abroad. I'd say she was highly imaginative. She is applying by trine to Saturn in her fifth house, which I deduced indicates hhee imagination was of an amorous nature.

The guy is also Jupiter since he rules the fifth house from the seventh. By turning the chart he appears in his fifth house (and so does her).

The fact they're both Jupiter and strong was proof enough for me, but the man wanted to know more details. Venus being in the chart’s fifth house can show the probability of an amorous act, but by being in detriment in Virgo it points to something done solely to check the boxes and be over with, instead of a lengthier and more passionate act. It also confirms what I’ve been told by others in the past reading, that it might have been somewhat awkward. I think this was the case because of where the act itself took place.

The Moon signifies feminine energy, in this case the wife and it is in the woman's fourth, signaling she was home. It is in Aquarius, ruled by Saturn, pointing to the fact she was acting independent and possibly rebellious. Saturn appears in her fifth house so I took it the act took place at her place.

The Sun signifies masculine energy, in this case that guy. It is in the chart’s fifth house and Libra. Its placement in the fifth can also point to the probability of sex, but being in detriment in Libra can indicate something that was off balanced, which would also confirm what I’ve been told in the past reading. The Sun is in a sign ruled by Venus, which we’ve seen is in the chart’s fifth house, which to me reinforces the probability of sex.

My curiosity lead me to try to figure out the sequence of events. For this I looked at the Moon and its future aspects. I didn't look at the past aspects to see what had happened before since I could've come up with a more convoluted scenario.

The Moon first applied to a trine with Mercury. Since the husband is out of the picture in relation to the question, Mercury rules the woman's seventh and thus relationships in general. Mercury is in her twelfth so I thought it signaled the beginning of the affair covertly. Since Mercury rules communication and and commuting and also rules the guy's third, I guess this is when she gave the guy the green light and he started off on his way to her.

It then squared Uranus, which is practically in the guy's third and the woman's seventh. This shows a sudden and unexpected setback which can probably indicate he didn’t arrive at the established time, they had some miscommunication, or something. But given Uranus is retro I think it was nothing serious.

The Moon squaring the ASC-DSC axis could point to some tensions between the two as a result of the previous occurrence.

Afterwards the Moon entered the woman’s fifth and applied to a trine with Mars, very powerful in her twelfth and Scorpio. I think this accentuates the secrecy factor, especially since Scorpio is a sign that cherishes its privacy (and will fight for it if necessary). The guy probably arrived and sneaked inside.

Moving on, the Moon applies to an opposition with Venus. I think this is when things likely escalated, but not necessarily physically. Probably they sorted things out before going at it. Venus being weak and in the fourth house could point to the fact they were edgy in regards to being seen or heard, or the woman had second thoughts about doing it inside her home. I’m a bit confused here...

It then quickly applied to a conjunction with the North Node in the woman’s fifth house. It seems to me things began to settle down at this point, paving the way towards the act itself.

As for the actual physical act, I think it began when the Moon was trine Jupiter. I think it was highly emotional, aside from the previous considerations.

I think it lasted up to the point the Moon was conjunct Saturn.

If we were to consider timing, I think the whole thing lasted a little more than five minutes given the 5°14’ orb between Jupiter and Saturn indicates a time unit of 5. I don’t think hours apply in this case, let alone days, etc. This too confirms it was a quickie, which is supported by Venus applying to conjunct the South Node.

To find the reason behind her deed I looked at her IC which is intimate motivations. It is in Aquarius, also pointing to rebellion and independence. Since it’s ruled by Saturn and Saturn is in the woman’s fifth house, I think she was disappointed of her love life and thus rebelled.

I received permission from the man to post this case study as he plans to have her come across it at some point through apparent coincidence. He insisted I add this at the end:

“Loretta sends her regards.”

So even though I'm not experienced, I think I can come up with a few things, even though I was lucky with this chart being more accessible.
