Picatrix decan talisman - Jul 2021

Yours truly again with another easy to do Picatrix decan talisman. This one is for the third decan of Leo, decan of Mars.

The Latin Picatrix mentions the following:

"An old man black and foul, holding fruit and meat in his mouth and a jug covered
with copper in his hand. And this is a face of love and delight, and trays [of food?] and of good fortune."

And the Arabic Picatrix:

"The image of an ugly man who looks like a Negro with a fruit and a piece of meat in his mouth and a kettle in his hand appears in its third phase. This is the phase of [Mars], and it indicates friendliness, rewards, affection, participation and harmony."

I have selected the following election for this talisman: Tuesday 27 July at 2:40pm GMT - day and hour of Mars, Mars in its decan and on the Midheaven. So if you live in a timezone other than GMT make sure you move your chart accordingly in order to have Mars on the Midheaven. Moon is kewl.

The operation for this pretty straightforward: cast the circle when the right time comes, draw the image of the decan on a clean piece of paper while keeping in mind you don't have to be super skilled at drawing (you can do some test drawings until then), then fumigate it (use some Mars incense if you want) while asking the decan spirits to consecrate the talisman for your desired purpose - pick from the bold words in the decan descriptions above. Then thank the spirits and cover the talisman in a clean piece of (preferably red) cloth or place it into a new envelope and leave it on the altar until such time the incense burns out completely. Close the ritual as usual and then wear the talisman on you while making sure you don't damage it - you can go ahead and laminate it if you want. You will find several such talisman examples I've posted on the blog in the last 8 months or so as guidance.

If you want to go more high magicky, then you can use HVYH as the godname of Leo and the angel Sahiber as the angel of the decan to command stuff around and all that. See what I did here as an example.

OR

If you wanna go the muchly superior over the top Pagany way of El Maximo Exponente de la Magia (I should write at least a short article on this newest title of his tee hee), Lord Manticore, you can call on the daemon of that decan, Phatiti.
