Power & Energy

Power and energy are very important in magical works. This applies to both the micro and macrocosm. The more power is put behind a working, the better its chances of success. Likewise, the more energy is brought into a working, the better.

As an example from the real world, a WW2 Tiger tank was a formidable weapon. If it had sufficient fuel it could provide devastating results. If fuel was low or non-existent, its efficiency dropped significantly (even in defensive battles).

Another example comes to mind from Anime, more exactly the Bleach series. The main character of the series is one Ichigo Kurosaki, a teen who ended up fighting the good spiritual fight. I remember other characters of the series speaking of him as having a great spiritual power, meaning he was innately powerful. However, when he was involved in longer lasting battles with powerful opponents his spiritual energy would start to drop at some point because of his immense efforts. The same occurred in the case of his opponents.
When it comes to magical works it's good to know they are all powerful. However, their power is best to be used at certain auspicious times, especially in the case of the planets, since they are more fit to make use of that power at those times. Similarly, it's best to focus as much energy of the chosen force into a working.

I've discussed election times in detail time and again in regards to working with certain powers. When it comes to energy, it's best to employ a ritual structure that would channel as much force as possible, otherwise those powers would have too little to work with when it comes to changing things to one's liking.

One's innate occult powers can differ between individuals even though they can be increased over time and with work. But even if someone has increased their power they'd be best to bring as much of their own energy into the working to increase its efficiency. I discuss these things in Words.

To conclude by getting back to the initial example, the tank being the macrocosmic force and its crew the person's microcosm. In regards to how auspicious times come into play in this comparison, think of the tank having mechanical issues as a comparison to planets being in signs not to their linking while being in good working condition as a comparison to planets being in signs they feel comfortable. If the tank had sufficient fuel and the crew had enough nourishment and rest (not to mention training and experience), the impact of the weapon was tremendous. Its efficiency diminished the more any of the aforementioned circumstances became unfavorable.
