HGA "experts"

I've addressed the wannabe experts with respect to occult matters in more than one article so far. This time I will do it in regards to the subject of the Holy Guardian Angel. Anyone that knows even a bit on this subject is aware there is more than one such entity assigned to each person and we've discussed this briefly in Asteria.

This article focuses on the Holy Guardian Angel from the perspective of being the entity of the highest rank assigned to an individual. So far so good, except that in some cases people elevate that entity to a status that would make it equal to and even equivalent to the person's Higher Self. This is foolish since the former is a creation of the latter, the Higher Self being the divine spark inside each individual, practically "your personal piece of God". I discuss this in Words and I even throw in some Genesis verses.

Moreover, in some cases self proclaimed experts in this field make it seem as if the HGA is something even beyond the Higher Self, if that could even be possible... Those who've read Cielos might remember the quick reference I make in regards to people who sell classes on this topic. Naturally, they have the utmost interest to make as much money as possible and so they end up painting an HGA image in as many bright colors as possible.

But what is the HGA and what does it do?

Before I answer that question I find it mandatory to say I have encountered my HGA during my second year of practice. However, instead of following the method depicted in some medieval manuscript, I followed good ol' Uncle Al's Liber Samekh. Here's a link to Scott's article on the topic. Naturally, people who promote the medieval method often say the entity encountered through Samekh is not the same as the one encountered through the method they're selling classes on. As such, to generate controversy and amuse myself in doing so, I refer to the being I've encountered as being my "Crowley-HGA". 

At the same time, the medieval method traces back to Egypt, albeit a thousand years after the time of those who were working on a daily basis with spells and formulas collected in manuscripts currently known as the PGM. I'm aware of one PGM working meant for the person doing it to encounter what is referred to as the supernatural assistant. Amongst this entity's attributes there are some that seem to belong more to the horizontal plane, meaning the assistant is said to help the person improve their mundane living. But it is also said to act on the vertical plane. Not only can it command spirits, but will also help the person's soul ascend into heaven upon their death. Even so, this supernatural assistant is also viewed as not being the same as the one encountered through the medieval method.

I will now answer that question based on my personal experience, what others have shared to me in regards to their experience with such an entity (irrespective of whether they've encountered it through the same method I've used, the medieval one, or any other), as well as through observing from afar some of the people who've encountered it (again, irrespective of the method). The HGA is a human being's personal link to that which from a monotheistic perspective is known as God Almighty, the Supreme Creator.

It is responsible for making sure the human's soul follows the Will of God. By consciously encountering it (through magical and mystical means), the person comes into contact with the means of understanding that Will (as much as they can). The more one strengthens their connection with their HGA, the more they are susceptible to gaining further understanding. The process of strengthening the connection can be diverse, ranging from meditation and communion to prayers and even offerings. 

However, it should be know that such a connection can also become weaker, thus rendering the first encounter useless if the person becomes content and feels no need to "bring the entity closer to them". Scott often talks about this whenever the topic is brought into discussion. Naturally, the entity is always with the person during this lifetime, but the ego can always find more mundane distractions to follow in detriment to its connection to the spiritual and thus it can always alienate itself from the entity. In fact, the ego actually alienates the entity from itself by ignoring it.

Becoming more aware of God's Will, at least in regards to one's self, is important because it allows the person to become more in alignment with their purpose of existing. I've noticed that people who encountered their HGA started falling more and more into the niche their soul finds more comfortable. This happened to different people, irrespective of gender and race and regardless of whether they kept the process and success to themselves or were constantly bragging about it online (especially after they had succeeded). Most importantly, I noticed it happening to both people who followed the medieval method and those who followed Uncle Al's, but others as well.

Additionally, one can become more aware of God's Will with respect to macrocosmic matters. The person won't become omniscient, far from that, but he or she can have a better insight into what's causing such and such things to happen to certain people, communities, even worldwide. Even more so, they can understand at least part of the purpose behind those events.

The HGA also grants spiritual authority and the reasons for this should be self evident. Since it is the person's link to the maker of everything, it allows the person to command even the most powerful spirits. It doesn't make you command people though, since they too have a divine spark and their own HGA even if they're unaware of it and even so, commanding people in a spiritual way would likely contradict God's Will regarding those people. But back to spirits, the HGA also protects against potentially hostile spirits that are summoned to be directed towards manifesting one's will. Whether they succeed or not is another matter, as that depends on a multitude of micro and macrocosmic circumstances, but they will not harm the person while in their presence because they recognize the person as having authority over them.

While the previous paragraph can also mean the HGA can also protect again curses, that is not necessarily the case. It can very well do so yet it won't do it every time, or at least not entirely. The reason for this is pretty simple. As long as God created us and allowed us to experience a plane of existence where we can be susceptible to curses alongside a myriad of other circumstances, it should be a no brainer we can theoretically live through as many of those circumstances as possible. If it were that simple then the HGA would forbid you from eating too much sugar or shooting heroin and so on.

I for one found that I became better at "hearing" spirits after encountering my Crowley-HGA, not to mention sensing their presences. I'm still no Edward Kelley and I'm unable to perceive their voices clearly and distinctly, especially for longer, but I understand the essence of their messages better. A lot of times I receive that essence through feeling and not through thoughts.

Another thing I noticed is that people who have encountered their HGA have become more proficient at magick. Some of them have become able to construct efficient magical systems regardless of technical complexity, but those systems were proven successful upon being tested by more than a few people (and this includes extravagant methods of making offerings). This obviously implies a better understanding into the mechanics of magick, which again should be self evident since getting a better glimpse of God's Will allows one to comprehend how everything works a bit better.

I almost forgot. The angel can provide the person with information they couldn't possibly know. For example, I once asked my Crowley-HGA about Scott's general whereabouts in Minneapolis. I received an image of a children's playground, which in my language is often referred to as a park. Much later I told Scott about that and he said there actually is a park near his home, although I imagine it's a park in a sense of a place with flowers, grass, trees, alleys, fountains and all that, where people can take walks and have a picnic etc. 

While it might seem as if my angel gave me the wrong answer, the answer was tailored to my mindset based on my native language and understanding of the world around. People would probably ask if the HGA can give you the winning lottery numbers and I think it can very much do so, but it won't so long as that falls outside the Will of God with respect to one's course of life and the lessons their soul has to learn. 

Again, these things are likely to happen so long as the person works on maintaining the connection, especially if they work on strengthening it.

That's about it. Might add some details later on depending on whether I have time and inspiration. Thing is, while encountering one's HGA is a very big deal, you shouldn't expect to become a living god or anything of the likes. You will probably embark on an even greater endeavor that will have you destroy whatever you had built on a weak foundation and rebuild it the right from bedrock. And that can be hard and painful even if it's being dictated by what some consider the most elevated being evah...
