Venus has just been cazimi in Capricorn last Tuesday while Mars is currently cazimi in the same sign. Funny, this year each of the two experiences cazimi in the other's day and very close together. It would have been an amazing opportunity for performing rituals involving the two planets, not to mention making Venusian and Martian talismans. Unfortunately, several factors made that opportunity turn sour, at least for me.
Firstly, Venus, Sun and Mars are all in Capricorn, the sign of Mars' exaltation, meaning both Venus and the Sun are being received by Mars. This would be welcomed since Mars is feeling great here, but it is combust during Venus cazimi and Venus-Sun conjunction also applies to conjunct Mars very closely. This gives a heightened note of volatility to an otherwise very pleasant event.
Secondly, both Venus cazimi and Mars cazimi happen during a waning lunar phase. Moreover, in both instances the Moon happens to be involved in applying hard aspects. During Venus cazimi the Moon is applying to a square with Uranus, which also happens to be retro and, if we are to follow modern attributions, is also in fall, making it extremely bad tempered. Mars cazimi that follows has the Moon applying to a square with a combust and thus inflamed Mercury.
Thirdly, both Venus cazimi and Mars cazimi are being pressured by applying oppositions to a still retro Jupiter...
I cursed out loud when I saw the charts some time ago, but came to terms with the whole thing and later held back from doing any magical work involving the two planets at those times, let alone making talismans with them. If you happen to have done any such work I hope you at least aimed for something along the lines of passionate, rough sex or something leaning more towards BDSM, also considering the nature of the sign. Otherwise, I don't think pretty love and romance stuff will manifest quite as expected. In fact, I think any beneficial Venus or Mars working during this time has a great probability of manifesting badly.
If that weren't not enough, Mercury cazimi too happens to be disappointing, at least for me. While the Moon is waxing and uninvolved in any hard aspect, Mercury cazimi and dignified by triplicity applies to a conjunction with Pluto which, based on the same modern considerations, is also in exile. Now, I'm aware many don't consider outer planets but I do. I have my reasons for doing so, having observed their influences in many instances, including through direct magical work.
Again, I will refrain from doing any Mercury work on that occasion. But if anyone is disconsidering this outer planet involvement in the cazimi election and is interested in a Mercury talisman from me, best let me know in advance at alex.scaraoschi@gmail.com so I'd know to adjust my schedule for that day. Anyone interested will also have to let me know the exact intention for the talisman. I repeat, I would not make use of this election for myself or another unless someone specifically asks for it.
