Age-old correspondences have reached us through medieval grimoires and have been compiled in works such as 777. Occultists nowadays can simply pick up Uncle Al's book to look up what plants or minerals correspond to their planets of choice and procure them for use in magical workings.
But how did such correspondences come to be? When it comes to plants or animals we can imagine how people thought of a lion as corresponding to solar forces, not to mention a sunflower. But many correspondences would be much harder to associate.
